Apple Announces the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus Features and Details

iPhone 7 Colors

iPhone 7 Camera

When was the last time you saw someone pull out a digital camera? Most of us rely solely on our phone for pictures nowadays. Apple is aware of this and continues to make improvements to the iPhone’s built in cameras. The new iPhone 7 camera will be 12MP and the FaceTime (selfie camera) camera will be 7MP. Apple has also improved the quality of the images by introducing optical image stabilization, better color and light processing, and an improved lens.

Double Cameras on the 7 Plus

On top of all of the improvements Apple has made to the iPhone 7 Camera, they have introduced double cameras on the iPhone 7 Plus. Why would you need two cameras? Well, you probably don’t but it can’t hurt!  One camera uses a wide-angle lens while the other one uses a telephoto lens. Technical details aside, these two cameras work together to create better zooming, higher photo quality, and better versatility.

iPhone 7 Water Resistance

iPhone 7 Speakers

In the past, the iPhone used a mono speaker, meaning all sound comes from one channel. The new iPhone will feature a stereo speaker, which features 2 channels. This means that the right and left speaker are treated as separate channels (similar to headphones), which can add a whole new dimension to your listening experience. On top of that, the new speaker is also two times louder than the iPhone 6.

iPhone 7 Lightning Headphones and AirPods

One of the most dramatic changes to the iPhone 7 was the removal of the headphone jack. Before you panic and throw away all of your headphones, you should know that Apple thought this one through. You can now use the lightning port as a headphone jack. Apple will be including a pair of lightning connector headphones with every new iPhone 7. Don’t want to use those headphones? No problem – every new iPhone will also include a converter that allows you to use standard headphones. It seems that Apple is making this change to push for a shift towards bluetooth audio.

Bluetooth audio allows you to utilize wireless headphones, which ultimately makes your life easier. You can use any pair of bluetooth headphones with the new iPhone 7. Apple will also be releasing a new product called “AirPods,” which is their take on bluetooth headsets.
